Italy - Nutella Is Hiring Food Tasters, No Experience Required

Good news for those who are seeking a new career as there’s a sweet prospect of a job where all it involves would be eating and will be based in popular tourist dream getaway, Italy. Sounds exciting?

It is especially suited for Nutella-loving consumers. Ferrero, the makers of the popular spread Nutella, is hiring 60 “sensory judges” to try and taste food items in a part-time capacity at the makers’ main offices in Alba, Italy.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Ferrero will pay you to move to Italy and become a professional Nutella tester <a href="https://t.co/U71AVvpzjk">https://t.co/U71AVvpzjk</a></p>&mdash; Ryan Flinn (@RS_Flinn) <a href="https://twitter.com/RS_Flinn/status/1026308931218374656?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 6, 2018</a></blockquote>

While it sounds like a “dream chill job” especially for those who have a sweet tooth, it will certainly not be a walk in the park. The successful new hires will have to undergo a paid three-month training program that would also include developing their taste and smell senses, before trimming it to just 40 people in two tasting panels.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">QUIT YOUR DAY JOB: The company that makes Nutella is hiring 60 new taste-testers – and much like the chocolate-hazelnut spread, the job description is out of this world. <a href="https://t.co/pwNGODuAqn">https://t.co/pwNGODuAqn</a> <a href="https://t.co/vda1Eu9f0Z">pic.twitter.com/vda1Eu9f0Z</a></p>&mdash; CBS News (@CBSNews) <a href="https://twitter.com/CBSNews/status/1026553494847684608?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 6, 2018</a></blockquote>

The recruits will particularly learn “how to taste cocoa, hazelnut and other semi-finished sweet products.”

No experience or prior expertise on the matter is needed as the Italian company is seeking out “regular consumers.”

The only other simple job requirement is the ability to operate a computer. Those with allergies might not be considered, however.

Best of all, the successful hires will be in for a long-term basis, working only part time or merely two days a week for just two hours after the training is concluded.

The role starts on September 30. Since the job is part-time, the company wull also allow the finalists to look for jobs on the side.

The feedback on social media appear mixed, while some call the offer a “dream job”, others are not impressed.
