France - ‘Artist’ Desecrates Lourdes Christian Pilgrimage Site For Social Media Clicks

Legend has it that a young French girl named Bernadette was saved in 1844 by the Virgin Mary who appeared before her in a cave and showed her the way out.

Ever since then the site has become a Christian pilgrimage for elderly Europeans where they pray for relief from disease and demand a place in heaven.

The Vatican ordered a cathedral to be built around it and when you go there, people praying is all you see.

The site has become so popular that travel agents offer it in between trips to the beaches of Spain or France.

A 34-year-old French ‘artist’ named Deborah De Santis this weekend shocked visitors by undressing in front of the Virgin Mary statue wearing nothing but a blue scarf. The elderly Christians were visibly shocked and offered her clothing whilst others screamed of ‘scandal.’

"L'Origine de la vie"
Magnifique le ventre qui t'a porté .
Magnifique le sexe qui t'a enfanté.
Magnifique le sein qui t'a allaité.
d'après l'Evangile selon st. One of the visitors present filmed how other visitors ran towards her, asking the woman to cover up. The video footage has been deleted in the meantime.

Several visitors called the police who arrested the woman soon after. The officers obliged her to put clothes on and she was taken to prison for ‘indecent exposure.’

The Tarbes prosecutor’s office filed an official complaint and Ms De Robertis will have to appear before a judge at the end of September.

The ‘feminist artist’ has pulled the stunt before apparently when in October of last year she did a similar pose in front of the Mona Lisa in Lourdes, claiming she was preparing a ‘sexual art project.’

According to Ms De Robertis none of her actions should be punishable by law, stating: “It is an activist artistic act, not a crime. There is no bad intent whatsoever. On the contrary, it is my mission to highlight the position of women in art and to highlight that in the past, nudity was perfectly normal.”

Onlookers stated their disbelief that someone would desecrate a holy site for social media clicks.

While I am NOT Catholic …

Quoting "On 11 February 1858, Bernadette, then aged 14, was out gathering firewood with her sister Marie and a friend near the grotto of Massabielle when she experienced her first vision. "

Even I know the story does NOT have her lost in a cave.

Now regarding the "claimed" artist.

I shout LIBERAL just pulling a stunt, wanting to deface a Holy Site for some Special Group fame and attention.
