Rapper Mac Miller is dead at 26. The apparent cause of the untimely demise of the performer is drug overdose.
Law enforcement said Miller was found at his San Fernando Valley, California home after a friend called 911. Emergency responders pronounced Miller dead at the scene.

Miller’s reps did not immediately answer media’s request for comment and confirmation to the tragic news. The rapper’s family released a statement later in the day.
The statement said: “Malcolm McCormick known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26.” It added: “He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers.”
It’s been widely reported that the rapper has been struggling this year, especially after he broke up with pop superstar Ariana Grande earlier this year.

Grande, in explaining the break-up, called their relationship “toxic.” She also defended herself against the accusations of fans that she and her now-fiance Pete Davidson as the trigger of Miller’s downward spiral.

Grande even wrote on Twitter then: “How absurd you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn’t the case (just Cinderella is ab me).” She even added the scathing: “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel; that they need to be.”
Miller has been very open about his substance abuse issues. He has been in quite a lot of troubles lately. The rapper was arrested in May after crashing his car in the San Fernando Valley. His blood alcohol level then was found to be almost twice the legal limit.

Miller was then charged with two counts of driving under the influence last month.
Miller had a smashing debut album, “Blue Slide Park” in 2011 which featured the hit “Party on Fifth Ave.” The independently distributed album made it to No.1 on the Billboard charts.
Critics, however, slammed his debut album and reduced it to little more than “frat rap.” Hurt by the reviews, Miller moved to LA and exerted efforts to improve his craft and learn and work with respected artists like Earl Sweatshirt, Action Bronson and Jay Electronica.

Miller got his redemption of sorts with his second album with “Watching Movies with the Sound Off” in 2013 which the critics approve of.
