Sunday Night Football’s Opener ratings continued to stumble after longtime rivals Chicago and Green Bay play at Lambeau Field only drew a dismal 14.4 for NBC. That’s down 9 percent from last year’s 15.8 for Giants vs. Cowboys, and down a bit from 2016, which saw the Patriots at the Cardinals.

US President Donald Trump decided to smear some salt into the wound by retweeting a message he had received which stated: “Welcome to 2018 NFL” and saw 2 Miami Dolphins’ players (Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson) kneel.

Mr. Stills and Mr. Wilson both refused to stand during the playing of the "Star-Spangled Banner" in the preseason and had already indicated they would continue to protest during the regular season as well.
As there has been too much disagreement on how to handle the controversial issue, the NFL is expected to wait until after the conclusion of this season to implement a new policy regarding on-field demonstrations
Already on 9 September, POTUS had felt compelled to weigh in with a tweet as he expected more kneelers: “Wow, NFL first game ratings are way down over an already really bad last year comparison. Viewership declined 13%, the lowest in over a decade. If the players stood proudly for our Flag and Anthem, and it is all shown on broadcast, maybe ratings could come back? Otherwise worse!”

Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who started the kneeling trend, gave a nod to both Stills and Wilson in a tweet Sunday.
What do you think? Should players be allowed to kneel? Let us know in the comments section hereunder.

They can express political views on their own time, but not at work in front of paying customers. Anyone who has a job knows this.
Let them kneel so traitors and subhumans get listed for the day of the rope
I don't make a consorted effort to watch the NFL. I would rather watch collage football. I also boycott baseball since the late '80, will watch Little League games
It will be awesome when the rigged sports created to keep the zombies in a controlled trance goes out of business. Then more unemployed dindus on the street. Fuck them all!
They can choose to do what they want and people can choose not to watch.
