Germany – New ‘Refugee Pogroms’ Reported In Saxony, Police Investigate

In his 2011 book ‘Boomerang’, US author Mr. Michael Lewis tries to explain the Germany psyche and its reasons for acting and, more importantly, reacting.

One of his theories is that they have a very peculiar interest in all things ‘interior’ and what it subsequently means for the ‘exterior’.

From that respect, you could assume that the groups in the city of Chemnitz who organized the first so-called ‘migrant hunts’ three weeks ago by now realize very well that their actions were the ones that got most under Chancellor Angela Merkel’s skin, as she has mentioned it multiple times in speeches since.

One can then also guess that these groups now assume that Ms. Merkel will have to make a choice of either continuing to condemn these acts or do something about her immigration policy.

In any case, she will be forced to react as this weekend brought further attacks on (mostly younger) migrants by groups of adult male Germans.

Police admitted that they are currently investigating two separate attacks on migrants which have left several injured in the state of Saxony-Anhalt (‘Sachsen’ in German).

On Saturday afternoon in Hasselfelde, two Afghan teenagers were assaulted by two men in broad daylight.

The Germans at first insulted the Afghans after which it turned violent and they started beating the immigrants. One woman tried to stop it but most of the bystanders did not intervene.

On Friday night, five (allegedly drunk) Germans attacked three young Somalis on their way home in Halberstadt.

Here as well, all three migrants were physically injured after being verbally assaulted.

Police say they are investigating for charges of incitement and assault in both cases, but no arrests have been made yet.

German authorities have become increasingly worried as it became known that several police officers have expressed their sympathy for the right-wing protests in the province.

Germany is organizing regional elections in October.
