A substitute teacher in Georgia has been arrested after she sent inappropriate messages and nude photographs of herself to "several" 14-year-old students. 35-year-old Amanda Lenea Pardue has been charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with electronically furnishing obscene materials to minors and electronic pornography and child exploitation.
The 35-year-old teacher turned herself into authorities and was booked into the Dade County Jail Thursday morning. She was released later that afternoon on a bond of $30,000.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation began investigating Pardue after a tip from Trenton, Georgia Police Department Chief Christy Smith on August 31. Investigators found enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the substitute teacher's cell phone a short time later. Very little information about the case has been released by the GBI, but what is known is that she sent nude images of herself to multiple male minors.
Special Agent in Charge Greg Ramey did not offer any insight into what preceded discovery of the messages exchanged between Pardue and the students. Ramey declined to discuss what type of "inappropriate" content she had shared or how she came in contact with the boys and got each other's cell phone numbers.
Dade County Schools Superintendent Jan Harris said upon administrators learning about Pardue's arrest the district immediately fired her. Local news website Dade Planet reported that Pardue was initially hired by the Board of Education in September of 2016.

Harris issued a statement Thursday saying, "We are saddened to learn about the arrest of a former substitute teacher. This individual is no longer employed as a substitute teacher with Dade County Schools. We are cooperating with law enforcement officers as they investigate this matter."
An attorney for Pardue named Larry Stagg said as of Thursday he had still yet to be notified of the GBI's specific allegations. According to Stagg, Pardue told him that the incident started in a group text involving several boys. Based on what she told him, Stagg says he believes the GBI had obtained a warrant for communications between Pardue and the boys on Snapchat.

Stagg added, "My greatest concern is the GBI had one thing that they saved and not the rest. Anything can be taken out of context if you had one sentence of conversation." Pardue's arrested earned mixed reactions from the community. One local resident named Michael Brodie said, "You're going to school to get an education, not an education in that. Everyone should have an opportunity to explain what they were doing, but at the same time these are serious accusations and they need to be followed up on."
Brodie added, "At no time should that teacher have been putting herself in a position where she was even becoming that friendly with a student to get their number to be able to text them or email them, or whatever it turns out to be that she was doing."
