Cristiano Ronaldo Says Rape Allegations Are 'Fake News' - Der Spiegel Publishes Proof

This weekend, after all, EU tabloids published the alleged rape by soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo of Miss Kathryn Mayorga, the Juventus forward reacted on social media to his legion of young fans.

“No, no, no, What they said about me? That was fake news. They want to promote themselves by smearing my good name,” Ronaldo stated on Instagram to his millions of followers in response to the rape accusations.

Mr. Christoph Winterbach, the journalist for the German magazine Der Spiegel who broke the news, claims that he’s now being constantly harassed by Ronaldo’s fans.

In the light of this, he’s chosen as of this morning to publish his version of the story, proving beyond any reasonable doubt that Ronaldo did commit rape. In a long 24-part twitter tirade, Mr Winterbach explained in chronological order that:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">This is something else<a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) <a href="">September 29, 2018</a></blockquote>

<script async src="" charset="utf-8"></script>

“We had hundreds of documents from different sources: e-mails, medical and police reports. we put the story together: In 2009, Mayorga accused Ronaldo of rape. She said she was too afraid to say his name to the police & to go to court because she feared harassment by Cristiano’s fans.”

“What he likes to do before publishing is to send e-mails to the editors, threatening to sue them if they follow through with it. He did the same to us this time. But let me explain how we work: We have fact-checkers who check every single word of every single article.”

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It&#39;s a questionnaire made by his lawyers. Ronaldo seems to partly confirm Mayorga&#39;s version &amp; stated that &quot;she didn&#39;t want to, but she made herself available.&quot; In a later version of that questionnaire, these answers are gone. <a href=";ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#CR7</a> is quoted saying it was consensual. 10/24 <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Christoph Winterbach (@derWinterbach) <a href="">September 30, 2018</a></blockquote>

<script async src="" charset="utf-8"></script>

As to Ronaldo’s Instagram video of this weekend, in which he called the article in Der Spiegel fake news, Mr. Winterback said: “I think it was a really weak reaction because so far there are no grounds for Cristiano's side to call anything fake. What's also weak is the reactions of some of his fans here on Twitter. I'm not going to comment much about them, but they truly, honestly shock me.”

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Cristiano Ronaldo addresses rape claims and explains reason for the accusations<a href=""></a> <a href=""></a></p>&mdash; Mirror Celeb (@MirrorCeleb) <a href="">September 30, 2018</a></blockquote>

<script async src="" charset="utf-8"></script>

“Finally, Ronaldo himself apparently denied our story, saying it was "fake news" and thinks that Mayorga wants to be as famous as him. Since she said that she was even too scared to name him in front of the Police, I'd highly doubt that she wanted to become famous.”

We’re sure that all this is only the start of a very long saga.
