The Ryder Cup, the two-yearly golf tournament played between Europe and the US, left a spectator blind from one eye.
During the tournament, played in Paris, France over the weekend, a ball hit by US Champion Mr. Brooks Koepka went stray and hit Ms. Corine Remande in the head.
The spectator, who had traveled to France from Egypt to watch the Ryder Cup tie, is left blind at one eye after a so-called 'fracture of the right socket and the explosion of the eyeball'

The tournament, held at Le Golf National club in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines just outside Paris, normally warns spectators whenever there is a stray ball.
However, when American golfer Brooks Koepka, who won the US Open and the PGA Tour earlier this season, teed off, there was no warning (according to Ms. Remande).
The injured spectator said she now plans to seek legal action, claiming there was no warning from officials before the ball hurtled into the gallery. She admitted she “appreciated the gesture from the golfer.”
“I tried to stay positive with him so that he didn't lose his concentration. But once I was taken away, I didn't hear anything from the organizers.”
The EPGA, the body which governs European golf, said it will 'investigate' the incident, which could 'take some time'.

US Open champion Koepka swiftly apologized to Remand following the incident and has reached out to her on social media.

Ms. Remande says she only blames the organizers, stating: “More than anything I want them to take care of all the medical bills to make sure there is no risk of infection.”
