ABC Fearful ‘The Conners’ Will ''Not Even Be A Quarter Of What Roseanne Achieved Last Season''

ABC Executives Mr. Ben Sherwood and Ms. Channing Dungey admitted behind closed doors this week that the station now regrets having fired Roseanne Barr over her twitter tirade.

The Roseanne star was let go in a surprising sudden move after an allegedly ‘Ambien’ Twitter tirade in which she made fun of Valerie Jarrett (a top adviser to former President Barack Obama) in combination with “Planet of the Apes” (we won’t repeat the joke, you’ve all seen it by now).

She then also stated the conspiracy theory that billionaire “George Soros is a Nazi who turned in his fellow Jews 2 be murdered in German concentration camps & stole their wealth.”

However, by now, an ABC insider told UK tabloid The Daily Mail that the station regrets this move, stating: “We didn’t think it through properly. What Roseanne did was wrong, but we shouldn’t have rushed to fire her. It was almost a knee-jerk reaction by Ben Sherwood and Channing Dungey who should have launched an investigation.”

“This would have given them more time to listen to the public, advertisers and cast members to determine the best decision.”

“They could’ve suspended her from the first few episodes without pay and had her return later on in the season. I mean the season finale saw Roseanne going to the hospital for knee surgery.”

The 65-year-old Ms. Barr was fired even before advertisers started to pull out and left what at that moment was the top-rated comedy show in the US.

The source told the Daily Mail: "In the end, the ratings are all that matter - and there are many people at Disney and ABC who are worried that firing Roseanne will see their Tuesday night ratings drop substantially. And should The Conners flop, Channing and her team will have many questions to answer."

"The whisper across ABC is that they will not even be a quarter of what Roseanne achieved last season."

Conservative commentator James Woods, who has returned to twitter since a few weeks after being banned, suggested today that another station should just offer the same job to Ms. Barr, as he doesn’t believe ABC owns her first name.

Mr. Woods said: “Serious question: does ABC own Roseanne’s name? I always heard that titles can’t be copyrighted. I’m probably wrong, but what if another network decided to do a different Roseanne Barr sitcom? What degree of material change is required?”

I guess they have a pretty good idea now just how big a base audience they had. Like James Woods, I`m surprised that has not been capitalized on yet

Laughable & to think I once despised Roseanne for grabbing her crotch during the National Anthem.

Now I like her for speaking the truth.

Last Man Standing, Roseanne…….the nuts are running the nuthouse at ABC! This is no different than Netflix stock going down…..can someone say “hiring the Soetoro, er Barry ah I mean Barack and family” mentality?
