The James City County police responded to reports that a naked man in the Italy and Germany parking lots of Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia was creating trouble for a lot of people as he was trying to break into cars. It turned out that the scandalous and potentially dangerous man at that time was no ordinary “suspect” as he is a Navy man who happens to be drunk that night.
The man later identified as Adrian Gilbert Cardenas was arrested that same night for the wild ordeal he created in the Virginia theme park. Before he was contained, however, Cardenas created more trouble when he got into a scuffle with bystanders and a cop trying to put handcuffs on him.
Cardenas in his drunken stupor tried to break into parked cars outside the theme park. Bystanders had the decisiveness and bravery to hold him until responding officers arrived.
Still, the stubborn Cardenas even fought with an officer and bystanders as he tried to pull off an escape.
One witness was quick enough to record footage of the messy incident showing at one point, Cardenas on the ground still trying to resist a cop’s efforts to arrest him. Bystanders assisted the officer in his mighty effort to contain the wild Cardenas. Cardenas was eventually subdued as onlookers watch the action unfold.
The officer actually had to use his Taser on Cardenas before succeeding in taking him into custody with the help of witnesses.
Police shared that Cardenas has to be hospitalized after his arrest due to intoxication by alcohol and narcotics.
He was booked into the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, although jail records show that as of Monday, Cardenas was no longer in custody.
Cardenas is stationed in Norfolk on the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush. He is facing charges of felony assault on a law enforcement officer, indecent exposure, intentional damage and obstruction of justice.
It is not clear if he’ll face other disciplinary actions from the Navy.
