A Trump supporter filed a lawsuit against his former employer alleging he was fired due to discrimination, including for simply wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap.

Michael J. Dale, the former supervisor in the Indianapolis Department of Public Works, claims in the reverse discrimination lawsuit he filed that he was unlawfully fired in April this year due to his “Caucasian” race, age, and for exercising his right to free speech.
Dale said that he wore the MAGA cap at work in 2016 and that he was a vocal supporter of then-presidential candidate Trump. He said he was open about his support for Trump to his co-workers.
Dale’s lawsuit claims that a local union representative later discussed at a staff meeting about his support for Trump. A year later and after Trump won an upset victory against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, the suit claims that Dale, along with several older supervisors, were asked: “when they planned to stop working.”
The former supervisor was fired in April this year on alleged grounds of “lack of leadership.”
The lawsuit also claims: “Defendants have treated significantly younger, non-Caucasian employees and employees who did not engage in protected speech… more favorably in discipline than it has treated Dale.”
Defendants in the lawsuit include the city of Indianapolis, the deputy director of Public Works and a union president.
One of Dale’s lawyers shared that their firm was successful in a 2010 reverse discrimination case against the Marion County Coroner that reached a federal appeals court.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal says that about 80 percent of workplace racial discrimination charges filed in 2016 with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission were from African-Americans.
White people followed in second with workplace discrimination charges at 12 percent.
Some supporters have also expressed their thoughts on the case on social media.

Its perfectly legal to wear such gear if you are a state employee. the only limitation is you cannot campaign during office hours or fundraise for a candidate on agency time.
The union and the city are gonna get reamed financially
I like that, "Discrimination is bigot's ugly cousin." hahaha
