Trump Plans Executive Order To End “Birthright Citizenship” (Video)

President Donald Trump is contemplating signing an executive order which would end the so-called ‘anchor babies,’ aka the right for children of non-immigrants and unauthorized immigrants born on US soil to obtain automatic birthright citizenship. In an excerpt for ‘Axios on HBO,’ the interview which was taped yesterday showed that Mr Trump has consulted with lawyers on the issue.

Asked by interviewer Mr Jonathan Swan about the contentious theme, Mr Trump stated: “It was always told to me that you need a constitutional amendment. Guess what, it’s not. You can definitely do it with an act of Congress, but now they are saying I can do it with an executive order.”

POTUS continued: “We’re the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States. It’s ridiculous. And it has to end.”

Opponents immediately slammed the President for wanting to alter the 14th Amendment to the Constitution singlehandedly.

The 14th spells out a person’s birthplace as his arbiter of citizenship, stating clearly that, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States."

White House administration officials appear to be thinking of transitioning towards a European model where countries all require a period of residency before bestowing citizenship on those born to foreign parents.

If POTUS would make the move to such a form of birthright citizenship, political analysts expect other countries on the American continent (Mexico, Brazil and Argentina) to follow suit.

The statement further hardens the President’s stance on immigration ahead of the November 6 midterm elections that will determine which political party gets control of Congress.

The 14th amendment was written to cover FREED SLAVES brought here against there will, with no known country of origin to return to.

Not Illegal immigrants who are Citizens of another country seeking to seek into the USA.

The writers of the amendment (Mich) made that very clear in their comments before and after its submission.
