Midterms - GOP Keeps Senate As Dems Reclaim House

||| Twitter @FinancialtimesMockup.png |||

Although the so-called “Blue Wave” did not materialize, the Democrats did manage to reclaim the House, meaning that US President Trump will now have to deal with Ms. Nancy Pelosi for the next two years. As also correctly predicted, the Republicans managed to hold on to the Senate. In essence, the polls of the last week before the election were (this time around) largely correct.

Over in Texas, Mr. Beto O’Rourke was presumed to be the winner many times during the election night but it was Republican Ted Cruz who held out and made sure that a 25-year winning streak for the GOP did not get broken. In doing so, he assured Senate control for the GOP for the next two years.

The overall outcome is a victory for Democrats after the party was locked out of power in Washington following the 2016 presidential election of Donald Trump. Polls indicated a ‘Blue Wave’ but the President’s relentless campaigning made sure the race was in the end much tighter than predicted.

The fact that Republicans are set to lose their majority in the lower chamber is indeed a setback for President Donald Trump's agenda in Congress as it means his opposition party will have more authority and, more importantly, fewer constraints on their ability to exercise oversight of the White House administration.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Democrats take the House, reports CNN! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ElectionNight?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ElectionNight</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Midterms2018?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Midterms2018</a> <a href="https://t.co/YQiweUeVUD">pic.twitter.com/YQiweUeVUD</a></p>&mdash; The Advocate (@TheAdvocateMag) <a href="https://twitter.com/TheAdvocateMag/status/1060019710480117760?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 7, 2018</a></blockquote>

Some pundits claimed this means the Democrats could also launch investigations into the President's finances, including going after his tax returns, as well as ramp up a probe into the possibility that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to win the White House.

However, if the Dems would block Mr. Trump’s economic agenda for the next two years by launching multiple personal attacks against him, he will probably use this as a counterattack pad against them in 2020.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Sen. Ted Cruz is the projected winner of the Texas U.S. Senate race. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Midterms2018?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Midterms2018</a> <a href="https://t.co/LL8eotM1gT">pic.twitter.com/LL8eotM1gT</a></p>&mdash; One America News (@OANN) <a href="https://twitter.com/OANN/status/1060011782037626881?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 7, 2018</a></blockquote>

The result also means that the days of one-party control in Washington are now over for the next two years.

The rural areas that mostly voted for President Trump back in 2016 showed their strength once again and kept the Senate in Republican control, but at the same time voters in urban and suburban districts across the country sent the White House a clear message: They want a check on the president and are clearly choosing to become more progressive. Democrats are now faced with a choice whether to go far left or towards the center for 2020.

When the new Congress is sworn in this January, Democrats will be able to curb Mr. Trump’s legislative ambitions, but it is clear that his number of executive orders might simply heighten as a result as he doesn’t need congressional oversight on those.

US President Trump thanked his voters in a tweet as the result was more than he had hoped for.

As usual the mob committed voter fraud to STEAL the house. Evidence is on the way. They have it all.

Only way demons won the house is via voter fraud. We all know it, we saw the few attendees at the Obama rallies. Who the hell voted for them? The dead? The illegals? Voter machine malfunction is a huge red flag considering the importance of the event. Yet all the media outlets grab what they are told and run with it.

The dims did not win Congress. They stole it in typical scumbag leftist fashion. The question is, are people going to tolerate their bullshit and the unconstitutional agenda that they will try to impose? Probably, because Republicans are all talk, no action pussies.
