NY - Snow Brings Big Apple To Standstill

||| Twitter @RepEspaillat|||

The massive winter storm has made the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York so crowded as a large number of commuters flock to the station waiting for buses. Since the terminal is already bursting at the seams, so to speak, the agency has decided to disallow more people from entering as officials closed the doors to the facility at about 5:15 p.m.

Officials said it is also due to the uncertainties of buses coming in, that is why they would rather recommend passengers to take trains instead in going back to NJ as the inclement weather is causing further bus delays.

The agency even tweeted: “Due to overcrowding conditions at PABT, please consider an alternate mode of transportation. NJT Rail and NY Waterways is cross-honoring with NJT bus.”

An agency spokesman also explained: “The main issue is that only limited numbers of buses have been able to get into the PABT, leading to the overcrowding.”

Residents and travelers have been blaming New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for the crippling transportation situation in the city brought by the thick November snow.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">yet NYC voters keep voting in Dems as their city crumbles… you deserve what you get.</p>&mdash; LLB (@6b4bc93416fe402) <a href="https://twitter.com/6b4bc93416fe402/status/1063292635694141441?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 16, 2018</a></blockquote>

82 flights were canceled at JFK Airport while 171 others were delayed. 125 takeoffs were also nixed at La Guardia, while another 192 flights were delayed. Newark also had 155 departures canceled, and 198 others delayed.

The commuter rail was affected, too, with switch-related problems scuttling Amtrak service north of the city. The George Washington Bridge turned into a virtual parking lot for the majority of the afternoon and evening with multiple car wrecks there.

Some enraged commuters just decided to walk over the bridge in sheer exasperation.

Many are blaming the city’s seeming lack of preparations to tackle snow at this time of the year, saying what’s happening is not acceptable in New York City.

Commuters took to social media to air their frustrations with the situation.

Savanah Smith, please provide an accurate photo credit of this article, I live near the intersection of the NYC streets shown in the photo and I can assure you that the scene in the picture DID NOT happen last night. When is the picture from? Why misleading the readers?

I live in an area that gets a shit-ton of snow each winter and every 1st snowfall it seems everyone forgot how to drive. I guess that's why there are ditches and medians?

I am in my early 60's and like most older citizens I have live thru each of their lies for profit and political power. The predicted Global ICE AGE, by 1990's. Global Warming and now the lame Climate Change. All capitalized on by the Big 3

(Hollywood, the Media outlets, and Political Powers). All of which made lots of $$$ and/or gathered lots of power under the false banner of GREEN/ECO.

Google NYC Blizzard History and checkout "NYC Weather Archive".

In recent history NYC has had Snow BLIZZARDS as early or late as April even back in the 1950's. Digging historically deeper we quickly find numerous early/late season Blizzards happening from time to time over the last 200 years.

It is called WEATHER it is NOT controlled by man yet!
