Kid Rock Ousted From Nashville Christmas Parade In Light Of Joy Behar Beef
Robert Ritchie, better known by his stage name of Kid Rock, was set to be the Grand Marshall of Nashville, Tennessee's Christmas parade until a controversial comment made live on Fox and Friends. Ritchie went on a short rant against the heightened climate of political correctness which he ended by slamming one of the co-hosts of The View.
“God forbid you say something a little bit wrong; you’re racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, this that and the other. People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct, and I would say, love everybody. Except, I’d say screw that Joy Behar bitch. Everybody but that."
Fox News' Steve Doocy was quick to apologize on behalf of the Kid explaining to him that "You cannot say that," at which point Kid Rock leaned into the mic, correcting himself, "I mean lady."
The Behar beef began when Joy referred to Sarah Palin, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock visiting the White House as "the saddest day in the history of the White House since the British burned it to the ground in 1814."
Nashville's Democrat Mayor David Briley had informed The Tennessean via his spokesman that he was "inclined not to participate" if Ritchie performed as Grand Marshall of the parade.
The sponsors of the Christmas Parade released a statement Friday afternoon announcing James Shaw Jr., the man who grabbed the gun from the Waffle House mass shooter in April would replace Rock.
Parade organizers feel that the Grand Marshal should personify the spirit of the Nashville community and have invited James Shaw, Jr., who became a community hero after stopping a shooting at a local Waffle House earlier this year, to be honored.”
