France - Country Ready To Explode Over Shock Police Brutality To Students (Video)
Paris is closing tourist sites and calling in thousands of police (and even some army vehicles could be seen on the roads) for this Saturday as the country seems ready to explode into another orgy of violence tomorrow. The people are not only outraged over the taxes that have been imposed and the treatment by their president of its people, but a shocking video surfacing today showing police brutality towards youngsters who wanted to join in the protests means that, for many of the protesters, the government has now lost its last bit of credibility.
French people are dismayed about the police action against protesting students. 153 students from a secondary school in Mantes-La-Jolie (between 12 and 17 years old), an hour's drive from Paris, had to kneel down before the riot police and keep their hands above their heads or behind their backs. You can clearly see many of the children are scared.
While filming the students, the filmmaker mockingly says 'this is a good class now'.
The police detained the students on Thursday as a reaction to their protest against educational reforms in France. According to the French Minister of the Interior, there were violent conflicts with the police, as a result of which a group of 122 young people were taken into custody.
According to the minister, dozens of young people had sticks, baseball bats and tear gas.
French leftwing politician Clementin Autain finds it 'frightening' and 'unacceptable from a human and democratic point of view'.
Parents all over France are expressing their outrage over the images and videos. Many have vowed to travel to Paris tomorrow to show how they feel about the government of Mr Macron.
