Just this Tuesday, President Trump reminded Democrat leaders, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, that the Border agents stopped 10 gang members in a very short period of time. It seems that the President's claim is true as details emerged regarding a massive number of illegal immigrants being arrested thanks to background checks.
People who come forward to sponsor children in government custody are subject to background checks, and if you are in the United States illegally you will almost certainly face deportation when the government finds out you broke the law. Federal officials arrested 170 illegal immigrants in America thanks to the background checks.

ICE confirmed the number on Tuesday and added that the arrests were of immigrants who were suspected of being in the United States illegally. The 170 arrests span from early July to November and over two-thirds of those arrests, 109, had no criminal record other than entering the country illegally.
ICE officials said another 61 of the remaining 170 did have criminal records but would not elaborate on any individual cases or what kind of crimes they might be. The arrests are a direct result of President Donald Trump's administration earlier this year when it allowed immigration authorities to examine the criminal background and legal status of anyone who tries to sponsor a migrant child.

The new rule meant that ICE could collect biometric data, including fingerprints and other measurements of people applying for sponsorship as well as any other adults who would be living in the home. This is good to hear and I think it is important that these children who have already suffered enough don't get released into the hands of a child pornographer or sex trafficker who is going to abuse them.
Advocates for illegal immigrants claimed the rule would discourage parents from trying to claim their children from government shelters. To that I say you should have entered the country legally, then you wouldn't be in this position and you wouldn't have put your children in this position. Ultimately the blame lies with the parents, not the Trump administration or Republicans.
Democrats try to put the blame for people being arrested on Trump for having ICE do their job and arrest illegal foreign invaders. Democrats and liberals want open borders and more government so everyone is on welfare and has to depend on them.
