Southwest Flight Turns Around After Human Heart Shockingly Found On Board

A Seattle flight bound for Dallas was forced to turn around for a shocking reason: someone left a human heart on board a Southwest Airlines plane.

As if it is was just a mishandled bag, the precious heart was kept on the connecting flight by mistake, instead of being taken out of the cargo hold in Seattle.

Southwest Airlines came out with a statement to address the incident. It said that the transplant organ on Flight 3606 as “a life-critical cargo shipment” was intended to stay in Seattle for delivery to a local hospital.

Local media Seattle Times reported that no hospital, however, owned up to the heart and no hospital admitted they were involved.

Passengers on board the flight were in shock when they were informed by the captain on the need to redirect the flight because of the heart left on the plane following a previous flight from Sacramento, California to Seattle. Still, they went beyond the shock factor and were happy to be able to help save a life with the heart left on the plane.

The organ was sent via Southwest Cargo. The airlines further said: ”We made the decision to return to Seattle as it was absolutely necessary to deliver the shipment to its destination in the Seattle area as quickly as possible.”

As if the situation at hand does not only constitute an emergency at hand, the flight also had an “unrelated mechanical issue.” The statement said: “We brought a different aircraft to continue the flight to Dallas, with an estimated delay of approximately five hours. Nothing is more important to us than the Safety of our Customers and the safe delivery of the precious cargo we transport every day.”

Of course, social media users won’t let the issue die without giving opinions. Some made light of the matter, one was witty enough to reference a song with lyrics saying the guy left his heart in San Francisco, while others expressed surprise that the airline was that negligent to leave a heart behind, short of calling for accountability.
