Airlines have been bailed out to the tune of multi-billions. You'd think that would mean they could refund cancelled flights. Ah well, guess that's asking too much. After a year of trying to get my money back and starting to realize it's not going to happen I began to ponder why I can no longer consider myself a libertarian. I am against "the state" and oppressive forces, the non-aggression principle is highly appealing but sans regulations the corporations (who are already by virtue of citizen's united, the owners of "the state") would be even more unfettered. If you stole nearly $2000 you'd go to prison. If you're an airline exec however stealing hundreds to thousands of dollars from thousands of people instead of a prison cell you get a bailout to the tune of billions. And that's why I felt the need to channel Howard Beale from the movie Network. "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
