Video Shows Savage Mob Attack Against An American in Greece

Greek newspaper Proto Thema was able to acquire the shocking surveillance video footage that shows the brutal mob attack that killed a young American visiting Greece on Friday.

The attack on American Bakari Henderson took place at Laganas, Zante in Greece. Eight men are the main suspects so far including six Serbs, one Greek and a British citizen, and they have been charged in connection with Henderson’s death.

The 15-minute long video shows Henderson running down the street before the gang of about a dozen men catch up to him and started their savage attack. The 22-year-old Henderson was repeatedly kicked and pummeled for roughly 30 seconds by thugs during the Friday beating. The clip also shows bystanders led by a woman trying to break up the mob and stop them from continuing to beat up the helpless American guy.

Henderson, from Austin, Texas, was left unconscious on the ground while his attackers stood encircling him.

Parademics arrived after about five minutes and placed the victim on a stretcher .

Greek police spokesperson Theodore Chronopoulos said they have arrested nine men and charged them with intentional homicide in connection to Henderson’s death.

Chronopoulos said Henderson was in a bar with friends when he got involved in a heated argument with other customers and two employees after he asked for a selfie with a waitress. A 33-year-old Serbian man, one of the suspects, got in a confrontation with the waitress over the selfie issue. Chronopoulos said the Serbian hit Henderson, who in turn whacked a beer bottle on the other customer’s table.

But the police account is different from the version of Henderson’s friends who said that the victim and another friend sat their drinks down on a table of strangers, triggering a furious reaction from two attackers.
