#Breaking: School Shooting in Spokane County, Washington

Investigators in Spokane County, Washington say they're responding to a scene of where an active shooter at Freeman High School in Rockford has been “put down”.

Authorities say that at least one person was killed and six more victims have been shot by the gunman.

The school is located at 14626 South Jackson Road, in Rockford where multiple first responders and emergency medical technicians are on the scene.

All nearby schools and businesses were placed in a lockdown during the incident but have now been lifted after the suspect is believed to have been detained.

The school system has advised parents and locals to monitor its official safety and crisis policy on its website.

While it's believed that the suspect is in custody now there is still an ongoing perimeter sweep to ensure the safety and lives of both students and faculty.

One witness says that her cousin was one of the students shot by the gunman before police shot and detained the suspect.
