The drummer and guitarist of Polish metal band Decapitated are currently being delivered to Spokane County where they will be accused of kidnap and rape, charges that took place after a concert in Spokane on August 31st.
Mr Michal Lysejko, 27 years old (drummer), and Mr Waclaw Kieltyka, 35 years old (guitarist) were both transported from a jail in Los Angeles County where they were held since their arrest on September 9th. The two other band members, Mr Rafal Piotrowski, 31 years old (lead singer), and Mr Hubert Wiecek, 30 years old (bass player) will be transported to Spokane county at a later date.
According to the released court documents, all band members participated in gang raping a woman that visited them (together with another girlfriend) in the tour bus after their concert in Spokane.
Already on 12 September, the band members appeared before an LA judge where they agreed to be extradited to Washington. A representative from the Polish consulate was present at all times.
Mr Steven Graham, lawyer for drummer Michal Lysejko’s, commented: “We have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit the band of her own free will and left on good terms. The accuser has a documented history of providing false information to the police dating back to 2014.”
The band in the meantime have cancelled all future tour dates and issued a statement via Facebook: “While we are not perfect human beings, we are not kidnappers, rapists, or criminals. As such, we strongly deny the allegations that have recently been brought against us. We ask that everyone please reserve their judgment until a definitive outcome has been reached, as charges have yet to be pressed. Full testimony and evidence will be presented in due time, and we have faith in that process.”
Decapitated is highly respected in the Death Metal scene and their latest albums are seen as milestones in the metal subgenre.
