Professor Norman Finkelstein in Hot Water Again

According to Twitter update from his profile, Professor Norman Finkelstein, an outspoken advocate for Palestine who has been very vocal about his distaste for the "Holocaust Industry" is seeking a "good lawyer." Finkelstein has found himself repeatedly in hot water for being unwilling to hold his tongue regarding controversial topics and hot button issues, especially as relates to Israel, Palestine and the Holocaust.

Updates from Professor Finkelstein's blog reveal he was arrested October 10th. As of October 12, he ws ordered to appear in Nassau County District Court. The lawyer said there is a good chance he would be locked up for around 10 days.

"I am skeptical that I will endure those ten days. I'm too old, too weary, and the environment is too alien. It's unclear whether these mafiosi want to punish me, silence me, or, I mean this literally, kill me."

Finkelstein claims Attorneys Michael Chetkof and Allyson Burger are behind the framing of a friend of Finkelstein's, Dr. Rudolph Baldeo. This comes shortly after Finkelstein's petition to disbar Burger and Chetkof's.

Finkelstein, according to the Nation, was arrested while blocking traffic near the Israeli consulate chanting for end of the occupation and slaughter in the Gaza strip. New York has long been "iberal on everything except Palestine" according to the Nation. New York magazine's Benjamin Wallace-Wells “If Netanyahu is so bothered by how dead Palestinians look on television then he should stop killing so many of them." This is symptomatic, perhaps, of the rise in unfavorable opinions regarding the state of Israel's actions.
