France – Far-Left Politician Arrested For Celebrating Death Of Hero Cop Beltrame

A far-left politician (of the party La France Insoumise) was detained as tweets from his account showed to celebrate the death of hero cop Mr Arnaud Beltrame (the man who swapped places with the hostages in the ISIS attack on French soil last week).

Mr Beltrame was thanked both by US President Trump and French President Macron for his heroism and selflessness.

Mr Stéphane Poussier, the far-left politician had stated that: “Every time a gendarme gets whacked… I think of my friend Rémi Fraisse” (referring to a French environmental protester who died after police threw a concussion grenade during demonstrations back in 2014).

“And this time it was a colonel, great! It also means one less vote for (President Emmanuel) Macron.”

Soon after, he was at first expelled from La France Insoumise (France Unbowed), the far-left party led by former Presidential Candidate Mr Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

A few hours later, gendarmes arrived at his Normandy home and took him into custody for an offence known as ‘sympathy to a terrorist act’, which was introduced in France after the 2015 attacks. Mr Poussier risks 7 years imprisonment and a fine of $125,000.
