New York - Democrat Socialists Celebrate Shocker ‘Poor Joe Crowley’ Defeat

As predicted here on thegoldwater.com, the Democrats are turning progressive for the midterms as could be seen once more when Representative Joe Crowley, the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus who was thought by some to be a future Speaker of the House, lost out to Ms Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old incumbent endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America who never held public office before.

Ms Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez beat Mr Crowley with a resounding 58% to 42%.

The shocking primary defeat in New York's 14th House District Tuesday left Democrats reeling and realizing they would indeed need to make a hard left turn not to lose out on the young vote in the 2018 midterms.

Mr Ocasio-Cortez had gained the endorsement of several extreme left-wing groups, including MoveOn and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), whose New York department congratulated her on the win, stating: “Ocasio 2018. The number of votes cast tonight—in what has been the lowest turnout district in the country under Rep. Crowley—proves that working class people are hungry for a voice in politics.”

Many looked to the reaction of Democratic House Speaker Ms Nancy Pelosi, who stated that Mr Crowley was "an unwavering champion for America’s working families for almost two decades" who "brought principled, unifying and forward-looking leadership to the historic challenges of the Trump Administration."

"I salute Chairman Crowley for a formidable legacy of achievement for the people of New York. I congratulate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on her victory," Ms Pelosi added.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">We endorsed <a href="https://twitter.com/Ocasio2018?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Ocasio2018</a> because we believe she is the future of the Democratic Party. Today, she ousted 10-term incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley. Here in New York, the progressive revolution has begun, and we could not be more proud to be a part of that movement. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ForTheMany?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ForTheMany</a> <a href="https://t.co/uEEbbj8qaI">pic.twitter.com/uEEbbj8qaI</a></p>&mdash; Cynthia Nixon (@CynthiaNixon) <a href="https://twitter.com/CynthiaNixon/status/1011796491789389824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 27, 2018</a></blockquote>

Meanwhile US President Donald Trump also reacted to the surprise result, tweeting: “Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election. In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!”

This woman is out of touch! Free healthcare & free tuition? And she thinks that will fix everything for working class people? Well newsflash someone will have to pay for that shit and guess who! The working class!

We need to route out all these commies and socialists from our republic before we are nothing but a shitstain. Don’t these people see the mess that’s Venezuela?

I am aware socialism is all the rage with our poorly educated youth. Please tell me what country has this form of government actually worked again?

New Zealand comes to my mind with one of the toughest immigration systems on the planet.

Some government just do not mix well with socialist programs. "Put Washington (DC) in charge of making bread and soon the entire nation shall want for the lack of bread!"

There are only so many times you can expect to get by with sending your bill to another table.
