The tagline to Aliens, "In space, no one can hear you scream," just got a bit more ominous. Gertrude Irwin, 93-year-old widow of astronaut, James Benson Irwin claims her husband was sexually assaulted during the ninth manned mission in the Apollo program, the fourth to land on the moon. Mrs. Irwin says that the Weinstein scandal and #MeToo social media campaign spurred her on to finally break her silence.

She claimed he was "never the same man again" after the fateful trip. It should be mentioned, Mrs. Irwin suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia according to doctors. That said, her recollections seem fairly cogent. Her husband had repeatedly complained about a partner on the NASA mission who would repeatedly bring up inappropriate sexual subjects as well as making inappropriate physical advances. David Randolph Scott is the astronaut named by Mrs. Irwin. She alleges that at one point he masturbated aboard the ship causing semen to float through the shuttle.
The interview with Mrs. Irwin speaking with an employee of the retirement home she is residing in has been taken down from YouTube. Irwin's daughter told Houston reporters that her mother is currently “mentally unstable” and under “heavy medication.” NASA has yet to make any comment.
