YouTuber Under Fire After Filming Hanging Corpse In Japan's Suicide Forest

The older brother of YouTube star Jake Paul has come under fire over the weekend after filming the corpse of a hanging suicide victim and posting the video on YouTube.

The video was taken by Logan Paul when he visited Aokigahara, a forest on the slopes of Mt. Fuji in Japan known for being a site of hundreds of suicides. Paul is seen in the video discovering the body of a person hanging from a tree and then posted that video to YouTube with the title "We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest…"

"This is not clickbait. This is the most real vlog I’ve ever posted to this channel," Paul says in the intro to the video. "I think this definitely marks a moment in YouTube history because I’m pretty sure this has never hopefully happened to anyone on YouTube ever," Paul continues as dramatic piano music plays.

"Now with that said: buckle the fuck up, because you’re never gonna see a video like this again!" Paul says. The 15-minute video is similar to the rest of his YouTube uploads and was intended to be Party Three of his "Tokyo Adventures." In the video, Paul jokes about Mt. Fuji not being where Fuji water comes from and films himself wearing silly hats.

Soon, Paul and his entourage discover a body hanging from a tree and calls out, "Yo, are you alive? Are you fucking with us?" Soon enough, Paul realizes that he is probably filming a dead body and points the camera back at himself. "So, a lot of things are going through my mind. This is a first for me. His hands are purple. He did this morning," Paul says.

Paul then tells his camera, "Oh no, I’m so sorry, Logang. This was supposed to be a fun vlog. Suicide is not a joke," he continues. "Depression and mental illness are not a joke. We came here with an intent to focus on the ‘haunted’ aspect of the forest. This obviously just became very real, and obviously, a lotta people are going through a lotta shit in their lives."

Others also posted footage of the hanging body with titles such as, "WE FOUND A DEAD BODY!!! emotional." Paul maintains he isn't monetizing the video and in the YouTube description contains information for the American Society for Suicide Prevention. The video quickly racked up 6.3 million views within the first 24 hours of being uploaded.

Paul quickly began to receive backlash for posting the video at all.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It is important to discuss mental illness, suicide awareness, and suicide prevention in a way that can help &amp; educate people. Logan Paul is a disrespectful piece of garbage who further glorified something horrible under the guise of &quot;there&#39;s help for you.&quot; Take action, <a href="https://twitter.com/YouTube?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@YouTube</a>.</p>&mdash; PushingUpRoses 💀 (@PushinUpRoses) <a href="https://twitter.com/PushinUpRoses/status/948006633967423488?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 2, 2018</a></blockquote>

Despite the criticism, Paul had already moved on to hyping his new video.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="ht" dir="ltr">new vlog<br>real life Pokémon Go in JAPAN<br>🇯🇵 go ay 🇯🇵</p>&mdash; Logan Paul (@LoganPaul) <a href="https://twitter.com/LoganPaul/status/947981711807098881?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 2, 2018</a></blockquote>

<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Now, Paul has taken down the video just hours ago Monday night and posted an apology to Twitter saying, "I’ve never faced criticism like this before because I’ve never made a mistake like this before."

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="da" dir="ltr">Dear Internet, <a href="https://t.co/42OCDBhiWg">pic.twitter.com/42OCDBhiWg</a></p>&mdash; Logan Paul (@LoganPaul) <a href="https://twitter.com/LoganPaul/status/948026294066864128?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 2, 2018</a></blockquote>

All are Born to Die.

But some faced with crap for a life hope that reincarnation exists.

But then again… Some that have done live regression and learned that they have killed themselves in the past lives… quickly figure out that suicide is far from being the answer. As it is some's Faith / Karma to live a life filled with crap, due to past transgressions until they make amends.
