Though the official cause of death will only be known when the toxicology report is made public, rumour going round in London is that Dolores O’Riordan, the Cranberries singer who died two days ago, was found in the bathtub of a swanky hotel room (the Hilton on Park Lane), in what many see as an apparent suicide through fentanyl overdose.
Fentanyl, the opioid painkiller that is generally used as an anesthetic, can be lethal as from a very small dosage.

Ms O’Riordan, 46-year-old at the time of her unfortunate passing, had made it known in the later years of the Cranberries success that during her youth she had been sexually abused and that these memories still haunted her.

An employee at the hotel stated: “The people who found her said they found her in the toilet.”
“I think it was the cleaners who had gone in there because there was no activity around the hallway or from the room. They didn’t say how they found her, this has been kept private.”

Furthermore, throughout most of her career, the Irish singer had been battling depression and bipolar disorder and close friends admitted to US website TMZ that she had been ‘dreadfully depressed’ in recent weeks.
