Kim set her sights high on her first run landing a backside air, frontside 1080, cab 720, frontside 900, McTwist and frontside inverted 720. Her epic run on the Olympic size halfpipe earned her a score of 93.75 putting her far ahead of the competition.
The other snowboarders were struggling to keep up with Kim who busted out the impressive frontside 1080 with ease which is currently one of the most progressive tricks in women's halfpipe.
Only a few women were able to successfully land the trick but none of them came close to Kim's score. Kim's performance earned Team USA's third gold medal in snowboarding at the 2018 Olympics.
On her final victory run, Kim landed two 1080s along with every other trick she attempted in her run. Her final score was 98.25 making her the new Olympic Champion.
