A WWE legend is dead.
WWE Hall of Famer “Luscious” Johnny Valiant died Wednesday morning following a fatal accident when he was hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street in a Pennsylvania town.
The unfortunate accident took place on the busy street in Ross Township. Valiant was immediately brought to the hospital but was declared dead shortly after.
The police are still investigating the incident, but after speaking with witnesses Ross Township Det. Brian Kohlepp said “there’s no indication this was anything other than a terrible accident.”
The WWE legend is Tommy Sullivan in real life. He was 71 years old. He became famous in the 70s when he won two World Tag Team Championships, once in 1974 with his storyline brother Jimmy Valiant and the second in 1979 with his real brother Jerry.
He remained active in the sports after retiring from competition as he managed the volatile and popular Hulk Hogan in the American Wrestling Association. After which, he returned to the WWE, which was then known as WWF, to handle Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine.
Valiant was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996.
Messages of sympathy and sadness poured in on social media for the legend’s death.
