29-year-old John Daniel Williams murdered Cpl. Eugene Cole in Norridgewock, Maine before stealing his police cruiser and leading law enforcement on a regional manhunt to apprehend the cop killer, in a case that both sent heartbreak through the community and an overwhelming desire from Cpl. Cole’s brothers and sisters in law enforcement to seek revenge by bringing the lowlife to justice.

<a href="https://thegoldwater.com/news/24171-Breaking-Manhunt-In-Maine-For-Suspect-Who-Shot-And-Killed-Deputy">The Goldwater reported </a>on Wednesday that Maine and neighboring states were actively engaged in a manhunt to bring Williams to justice.

Williams was captured just before 12:43 PM hiding in what's being described as a “small, remote camp” in the Norridgewock area, according to police.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation alongside numerous state and local law enforcement agencies were all emotionally and physically involved in the manhunt lived the last four days, with a total of 200 officers from numerous departments seeking Williams.

Police say they found tracks that led them to the camp in which Williams had sought refuge, and used Corporal Cole’s handcuffs in a ceremonial arrest to bring the man who stole his life into custody.

According to police, after the brutal murder of Corporal Cole Williams then fled in his cruiser, before driving to a nearby convenience store where he committed an armed robbery.

Police would later locate the cruiser abandoned in Norridgewock, and had placed a nationwide all points bulletin on Williams that had the entire region on high-alert for the armed and dangerous murderer.

Officers reportedly stated that both themselves along with the rest of the community can now “sleep well” as a result of this apprehension.

Just an hour prior to the victorious arrest of Williams Corporal Cole’s wife released a public plea for the cop-killer to turn himself into law enforcement.

"I urge Mr. Williams to turn himself in or at least reach out to law enforcement," she said in the statement. "Mr. Williams, be assured you'll be treated the same way Corporal Cole would have treated you if you had given him the opportunity – with dignity and respect."

"We just want you to talk to someone," she added. "Please, please talk to us."

With the arrest, Mrs. Cole will stop be with a great loss but have some comfort in knowing her husband's killer is no longer free to roam the Earth.

Notice all the sores and marks. I wonder how many days (weeks?) this guy had been up straight on meth before they caught him.

Killing a cop and stealing his cruiser before going on the run isn't normal… but on meth it is.
