Iconic Singer Cyndi Lauper Back With a New Song After Conquering Psoriasis

Iconic singer Cyndi Lauper is back with a new song after conquering her long battle with the disease psoriasis, and the comeback song is aptly titled “Hope.”

Lauper is a Grammy, Emmy, and Tony-award winning artist who first emerged as one of the top recording artists in the 80s.

She first discovered her illness when she was touring with Cher and noticed what appeared like a nasty rash on her skin. She has tried practically all kinds of drugs to heal from the problematic health condition but to no avail.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory condition. 7.5 million Americans are afflicted with the said illness which Lauper considers a “really awful disease.” She said she was always covered from head to toe when she was battling the disease and she couldn’t regulate her body temperature anymore.

The popular voice from such smash, iconic hits loved by generations all over the world including “danceable” hits “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” “Time after Time” and “True Colors” ironically had to spend a lot of time in bed when she was still struggling with psoriasis.

She also fought with feelings of helplessness and inadequacies. She said: “Let’s face it when you’re sick you feel powerless. I laid there, and it wasn’t getting any better.”

Lauper soon recovered her will and determination, however, to triumph from the disease that bothered her for five long years. She did not want to give up. Finally, her efforts and faith were rewarded when she found a solution through Cosentyx.

Now, she says victoriously: “Here I am able to wear my shoulders out, oh my God!”

She also does commercials for the drugs. She is also on tour in the country pitching the “See Me” campaign to encourage others battling the same disease to come and seek help.

Lauper also wrote a song inspired by her journey, and the other psoriasis patients she met along the way.

Now, Lauper can say with confidence about battling the dreaded disease that can also cause other health issues like joint pain and stiffness: “You can manage this thing, don’t let it manage you. You gotta win.”

And Lauper is well on her way to continue winning as she’s to start a North American tour with Rod Stewart.
