Pope Francis said during his homily yesterday, of which the Vatican did not fully release the text, that he has been giving thought about when it might be time to "take leave" of his flock. Cryptic commentator Q hinted as much back on 3 April already, when the former stated that the “Pope will have a terrible May.”

In the selected excerpts that the Vatican did release, Pope Francis said after reflecting on a biblical passage about St Paul thinking about leaving his flock of followers to take care of others:

The Pontiff stated: "When I read this, I think about myself because I'm a bishop and I'll have to take my leave."

"I think about the bishops, of all the bishops. May the Lord give the grace to all of us to be able to take our leave this way, with this spirit and strength."

With his comments, Francis reminded those listening that the formerly retired Pope Benedict XVI "opened a door" for any future pope to take a similar decision when he resigned in 2013.

Even though he is universally beloved, Pope Francis has had a bad 2018 so far. He mistook the Chilean bishops implicated in a sex abuse cover-up scandal and has seen his own Vatican bookkeeper return to Australia to face abuse charges.

After all the good things he has said about Islam, the blood-lusting raping paedophilic cult, he should go and hang his head in shame…
