Germany’s most popular theme-park, known as the Europa-Park Rust, became the sight of a massive blaze late yesterday afternoon when a huge fire broke out in one of its attractions.
The 25,000 visitors to the park had to be evacuated, but luckily none of them were hurt. Four firemen sustained light injuries in battling the blaze.

The fire was quite massive in scale, and park authorities did confirm via their website the attractions ‘Batavia,’ and ‘Norway’ have been completely lost but that they would work through the night so the park could simply re-open on Sunday (or at least in part), their most popular day of the week.

And so, by the early hours of Sunday, the cooperating fire departments informed German press agency DPA that the situation was "under control," and that they were successfully dampening out the blaze. The park said it would give an update this morning as to it’s possible re-opening.
