On the eve of the biggest spectacle on the planet to which billions of people will be tuning in, Ms Tamara Pletnyova, a Senior Member of the Russian parliament and head of the Family, Women and Children Affairs committee in the lower house, said to Govorit Moskva radio station that it would be wise for single girls in Moscow to avoid sex with non-white foreign men as such behavior would leave them to become single moms with a mixed-race child.

At this point Ms. Pletnyova, who represents the KPRF Communist Party in Parliament, becomes quite specific: “It is one thing if the parents are of the same race; quite another if they are of different races. We must give birth to our children. These mixed-race kids suffer and have suffered since Soviet times.”
