Oops! Former Trump Adviser Tells Black Strategist He's Out Of His "Cotton-Picking Mind"

A former Trump adviser made a grave error on live TV when he told black Democratic strategist Joel Payne appearing on "Fox & Friends" that he's out of his "cotton-picking mind." President Trump’s former deputy campaign manager, David Bossie, used the awkward term Sunday during a heated debate about the rhetoric used when debating immigration and other issues.

The discussion was being moderated by Fox News host Ed Henry when Bossie made the comment. The trio was discussing former CIA Director Michael Hayden posting a photo of Auschwitz when referring to the Trump administration's immigration policy. The president noted himself that the policy had been in place for 60 years and no one did anything about it until he signed an executive order stopping family separation.

When Bossie brought up Hayden, Payne interrupted him and kept saying, "That liberal Michael Hayden, that screaming liberal Michael Hayden." When Bossie finally got tired of Payne interrupting, he said, "You’re out of your cotton-picking mind." Payne promptly responded, "Brother, let me tell you something, I got some relatives who picked cotton and I’m not going to sit back and let you attack me on TV like that."

"Attack you how? You’re out of your mind," Bossie replied. "This is ridiculous; this is what’s gone on in America. This is what we’re about." When the show returned from a commercial break, Henry said, "Bossie used a phrase that clearly offended Joel Payne and offended many others." Henry added that he didn't know what Bossie meant by the phrase.

Henry issued a statement saying, "But I want to make sure that Fox News and this show, myself, we don’t agree with that particular phrase. It was offensive, and these debates get fiery, that’s unfortunate. We like to have honest and spirited debates, but not phrases like that, obviously." Bossie also apologized for his use of the phrase on Twitter.

Maybe he says that to everyone and sees beyond race? Leave to the left to make it about how something was said instead of the merit of the argument

For you Northerners and non-Southerners.

The term "Cotton-Picking Mind" is applied to person (eg Liberals idiots) so wrapped up what they are doing they don't see the real world around them.

My mother and her sisters that actually picked cotton, explain the phrase to me as a kid.

The example they used was a person so busy picking and looking at the next cotton ball, they fail to see SNAKE in front of them.

Because when you are picking a 400-500 cotton balls to make a pound and you need 100lbs ++ . Thus needing 450,000+/- hand picked cotton balls to make your daily wage, like they did in the 1920's. You tend to focus on the issue (cotton ball ) and not more serious things around you.

Oh shut up you whiny nigger. Waaaah my cousins picked cotton! No they didn't. They might have robbed some old ladies at knife point in a convenience store though. You're out of your cop car flipping mind.
