An elderly 70-year-old math teacher from Long Island gave two 16-year-old students cash in exchange for their nude or revealing photos. The pervert teacher even offered one of the students a top-of-the-line iPhone if she would agree to have sex with him.
Authorities have identified the teacher as Jairo Inswasty. He was charged Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child. Central Islip High School immediately suspended Inswasty from his teaching position.
The Suffolk County police also said Inswasty paid one student $5 for a bikini photo and enticed another student to post for nude photos in exchange for $150.
Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart says Inswasty later even offered the second student an iPhone X to sleep with him. The student has the good sense to turn him down.
The girl cleaned Inswasty’s home from January to March. She shared what he attempted to offer to another math teacher, while the first victim told a friend, who then reported the incident to a guidance counselor.
Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart said: “It’s really quite shocking, quite frankly, for an adult in that situation of trust to engage in this behavior and take advantage of these young women the way he did.”
Inswasty was released on a desk appearance ticket following his arrest. No Police conducted a search warrant his home and seized his camera, computers and iPhone.
Inswasty’s union did not respond to media’s requests for comments on the issue.
Court records did not show a lawyer for the teacher.
Police say they believe there could be more victims of Inswasty out there. Anyone with information is requested to call the Special Victims Section at 631-852-6531.
