A California man could never have imagined that a casual incident of just checking out a car for sale parked on the street could lead to odd danger brought by an unlikely attacker- an aggressive bull. The man came close to death with the “’up close and personal” encounter with the raging bull.
Walt Dean King, a former soldier, said that not even his time with the military prepared him for such an unusual encounter.

King described to local media what it was like encountering an aggressive escaped bull on the street. He said:
"I remember feeling the horn going through my right side and the next thing I knew, I was on the ground, close to a bush, and I crawled between the bush and the house and the bull stood over me and snorted for about 20 minutes.”
King added that his memory is hazy from the scary encounter, but he remembers being gored twice before someone stopped and honked his horn. He said: "He didn't see me, I think. He had seen the bull."

King said he called out to the rescuer for help while he hid. King was rushed to the hospital where he underwent three hours of surgery.
The former Army is now recovering from wounds on both sides of his stomach too graphic to include in this story.
Adding to his strange encounter was the fact that the doctor told King that his belly fat saved him from even worse injury. He shared: “"It's the worst thing I’ve ever had. I’ve never hurt this bad. I've had broken legs, everything, and I’ve never hurt this bad. Never ever."
King said he could have easily died from the bull encounter, but a family friend said he had an “angel” who saved him. For the senior 69-year-old King, he would rather attribute surviving the life-threatening incident to good karma, as he also saved a life during his younger years.
"It was karma because back in the 70s, I had pulled a lady out of a burning building, so now I think I’m being paid back, by not dying. I think he might be right. That’s the only thing I can say, I don’t know why else. I shouldn’t be here right now, but I am.”

For now, King is all-focus on recovery. Doctors told him they may not know the full extent of his injuries for six months.
King said the worst part is that he may never be able to do what he loves – freely tend to the dozens of acres he owns.

King would also like others to learn from his experience and to be more aware of their surroundings.
