Texas - Police Searching For Thieves Who Tried Stealing ATM With Forklift

Houston police say they are investigating who tried to steal an ATM from a Wells Fargo branch with a forklift. Police say they were called to the area around 3:30 a.m. after the report of a panic alarm.

When police arrived they found a large, green forklift that was used to try to lift the ATM free. Investigators say the crane attempt failed and they found a box truck nearby the scene.

Police are processing the truck and the crane for evidence and are working to determine if any cash was taken. This might be one thing abuse

They would have had better luck if they rammed it with the truck or rear end of the high lift hard enough to knock it off its moorings, then used the lift to stick it into another truck. Prolly don’t want to tool around in a half totaled pickup with a stolen atm in back. After putting it into the truck they could have planned to cut her open at their leisure but would have been surprised when the law came busting in. Most large atms have a backup cellular line and as we all know all cellular accts have gps location services on all the time so responders to 911 calls know where to go without the frantic and confused victim trying to explain. All said they would be lucky to pull in $10k for all the crimes and work. Like that dog used to say “crime doesn’t pay”
