CDC Warns: "Please Do Not Wash Or Reuse Condoms"

I guess some people really do need to be warned of the obvious, reusing condoms is a bad idea. Condoms are the thin, stretchy, and sometimes even flavored layer of defense that protect you from getting a sexually transmitted disease. They are also one of the most common forms of birth control, maybe you even blew one up in high school in sex-ed.

Apparently, the problem of people trying to wash and reuse condoms has become such a big concern that The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) felt they needed to issue a warning to the public. The warning came in the form of a tweet from the official US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Twitter.

"We say it because people do it: Don't wash or reuse #condoms! Use a fresh one for each #sex act," the tweet said. Dr. Elizabeth Torrone, an epidemiologist at the CDC’s Division of STD Prevention recently said in an interview, "Incorrect use, such as reusing a condom or using more than one at a time, diminishes the protective effect of condoms by leading to condom breakage, slippage, or leakage."

"Soap and water won’t kill all of the tiny microorganisms on or inside the condom, and it can only make the latex more prone to tear," she added. With the low cost and availability of condoms there is really no excuse not to use them, and don't try saran wrap either. If you really can't afford them you can usually find them for free at your local municipal or state health department.

Really?? people need to be told this? Does anyone even want to handle their own used condom? Gross & nasty especially if used on a 3rd or 4th person. Probably more of an infection risk than going bare back. Its like the youngsters are reverting back to un-enlightenment!
