The social justice left-wing ideology that is pushing to give hormones to children as young as 3 to change their gender is not willing to hear someone with an opinion that contradicts their own. Students at the University of Western Australia couldn't even stand to hear American pediatrician Quentin Van Meter speak so they decided to bully him out of his speaking appearance.
Dr. Van Meter was scheduled to speak at an Australian Family Association event being held on the campus. The University of Western Australia initially held their ground against student protesters citing freedom of expression but they social justice warriors wouldn't stop until their opposition had been silenced.

Students started a petition to have Dr. Van Meter banned from the campus and it garnered over 1,000 signatures. A statement was released today from the university saying they decided to cancel Dr. Van Meter's appearance. "We have been advised the risk surrounding the event has been elevated to a higher level, which mandates a more robust event management plan."
The event's organizers said they "were unable to provide the requested information to meet the venue hire conditions" meaning the talk was canceled. Despite essentially folding to a few vocal student's demands, the university maintains it "holds firm on the principles of freedom of expression and maintains its position that it does not wish to set a precedent for the exclusion of objectionable views from the campus."

Dr. Van Meter is known for his involvement in a group that opposes gay marriage, gender reassignment, abortion, and premarital sex. He is also the president of the American College of Pediatricians. Dr. Van Meter denies there is any scientific evidence supporting statistics about transgender people.
A spokeswoman for the AFA said, "We are disturbed at the denial of freedom of speech in a place of academic learning." Dr. Van Meter's detractors, such as UWA Student Guild president Megan Lee, used accusations of "pseudo-science" to discredit him. "The AFA and Dr. Quentin Van Meter is very much basing his decisions on pseudo-science and a university is not an appropriate place for those discussions," Lee said.
