No Saudi Punishment- How Much Power Does The President Really Have?

President Trump announced Tuesday that he would not be seeking further punishment for the American ally nation Saudi Arabia. Many have been hoping for a harsh punishment for the Saudi prince thought to be behind the torture and murder of a U.S.-based journalist named Jamal Khashoggi.

“It’s a very complex situation. It’s a shame, but it is what it is,” President Trump says after releasing a statement standing by Saudi Arabia, despite the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi: “It’s America first.” pic.twitter.com/ZIzgCZY6wl
— NBC News (@NBCNews) November 20, 2018

Assassinations of "high-value targets" are routine in the world of high-level government espionage, even for the United States which prefers drones over the old-fashioned way, but usually, those targets are terrorists. This time, it was a journalist and the media is not happy with one of their own being killed without due process. Especially, a journalist who resided in the U.S.

The President offered a grim reality when he spoke with reporters Tuesday night saying, "It’s a very complex situation. It’s a shame, but it is what it is. It’s America first." In an earlier statement on the killing, the President said Khashoggi's killing was a "horrible crime … that our country does not condone." He dismissed calls by some in Congress who wanted a tougher response and claimed the Saudi prince must have had knowledge of the execution.

"It could very well be that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event," Trump said. "Maybe he did and maybe he didn't!" Some in the U.S. called for the cancellation of billions of dollars of arms deals but Trump said "foolishly canceling these contracts" would only benefit countries like Russia and China. The president was adamant about his "America First!" police and said, "The world is a very dangerous place!"

The Trump administration already sanctioned 17 Saudi officials who were thought to be responsible for or in the very least aware of the hit on Khashoggi. The President also cited the need for a "counterbalance" to Iran adding, "and Israel needs help, too". He continued, "If we abandon Saudi Arabia, it would be a terrible mistake."

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky was among those displeased with Trump's response saying, "It's a sign of weakness not to stand up to Saudi Arabia. Sometimes when you have two evils, maybe you don't support either side." The power and wealth of Saudi Arabia cannot be denied and it is not just the Trump administration who has been put in this position of being forced to maintain the decades-old alliance.

Even the presidents before Trump were clear on one thing, keeping an alliance with the Saudis is vital. Smooth-talking Sen. Lindsey Graham also sided against Trump saying, "It is not in our national security interests to look the other way when it comes to the brutal murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi."

Meanwhile, Rand Paul and Lindsey Graham had no problem standing idly by and collecting paychecks while the Obama administration killed thousands of people based on cellphone "metadata". The drone program that flourished under Obama carried out hit after hit using just the GPS location of a cell phone, even if that person was at a public place like a wedding. So to hear all the self-righteous talk from the Republicans is just hypocritical.

Secretary of State Pompeo did his best to field questions over the situation and at least had the backbone to back the president. The reality is all governments carry out this type of espionage and killing, the only reason so many have made such a big deal of Khashoggi is because he was a journalist. There were thousands of executions carried out by the U.S. government, we just didn't use bone saws and plastic bags, we used metal robot-birds that bombed indiscriminately of who was near the target.

SUMMARY OF LIBERAL MEDIA LOGIC

* We have a Foreign Nation employed by WAPO working mainly in Europe and other non-USA countries.

* A non-US Citizen, overly vocal about his own Royal Family that runs his Foreign Government with a strong fist.

* A foreign Government known worldwide for its 12th Century type punishment practices, which has included death for bad mouthing the government and/or Royal Family members.

* The WAPO Foreign nation (not a US Citizen) seeks a divorce not in US Courts, but chooses to report to his Foreign Governments Embassy in another Country called Turkey (not the USA) where he is working at the time.

* The Foreign Agents on Foreign soil, in their Embassy located there, use methods that it is well known for, and plans to arrest him and return him to his country to answer for his crimes by their laws.

* They screw up, kill one of THEIR citizens, in a foreign country located THEIR Embassy, and now somehow this is USA Matter and President Trumps problem?

OK Liberals care to explain?

Is USA a coward failure only shouting 200 billion and shouting 500 billion with doing nothing real while China communists have been keeping beating USA?

The simplest example in life to see the unfair robbery nature of China communists…(rob money from Chinese, rob work from American)

If you transfer money from banks not in China (for example, D) to China bank,Zero fee. But if you transfer back, that's to say, if you transfer money from China bank to banks not in China (for example,D), very high fee. That's the fairness? So, we got to know why China bank would not like fair competition with other banks, and China communists did unfair competition very well. (By the way, there is a little fact : China top four communist banks are the four biggest and richest banks all over the world. )

China bank says: If you transfer money out of mainland, for example, if you transfer money to USA , the fee is 1‰, 50¥ at least for each. And there is also tele fee,150¥ each time. And there also may be other fees. So, if you are a Chinese and want to buy an American goods, you transfer 500¥ to your account outside China, and China bank just simply takes off more than 200¥ from you just because you want to buy an American goods. Moreover, if you take this American goods back to China, you may face high tax by China communists as well. So, we got to know why China goods would not like fair competition with USA goods, and China communists did unfair competition very well. (By the way, there is a little fact: China communists legally steal $375 billions and millions of American jobs from USA in 2017 by anti-freedom trade.) And all above here lasts for decades!
