Angie Avila, whose sister, Laura Avila, suffered brain damage from the anesthesia used in the procedure in Mexico, wrote on her post that Laura dies shortly after 8 a.m. She shared her grief and said: “My heart aches, and I truly don’t know how or if I’ll ever overcome this pain.”
Laura’s death was also confirmed by the family’s lawyer. The lawyer sent a statement to the media warning Americans not to be lured across the border to avail of cheaper plastic surgery.
The 36-year-old realtor was originally scheduled to go into surgery for a rhinoplasty on the morning of October 30 in Juarez, Mexico. However, the surgery got delayed and was reset to noon of the same day because surgeons flying in from Guadalajara “were running late.”
Laura traveled to Mexico with her fiance, Enrique Cruz, to have the nose job done. The facility’s staff did not immediately inform Cruz about the emergency state Laura was already in following complications she suffered from the injection of anesthesia.
Larry Friedman said in his statement: “So that her death is not in vain, people should think of Laura before they look for cross border discount surgery.” The lawyer also cautioned: “They should do their homework and investigate the experience, training and track record of anyone BEFORE they sign up. Always LOOK before you leap!”
Laura also suffered from a heart attack and deprivation of oxygen after the surgery gone wrong.
Authorities are investigating to establish whether medical negligence was a factor in the tragic fate suffered by Laura. It is still not clear if the family is pursuing legal cases against the facility in Mexico and the surgeons and staff involved in the surgery.
Avila also expressed her love to her departed sister in the Facebook message she posted. She said: “I love you, Laura Avila. Thank you for being the best sister in the world.”
She also said that she considered Laura like a “second mom” to her and the persons she loves most in the world.
Social media users expressed their sadness over the news.

(((Larry Friedman))) Hoy! The kikenvermin are everywhere.
Gorgeous woman. Classic nose that complemented her look. Lost her life in pursuit of an ugly Hollywood micro-nose.
Nothing wrong with her nose before, what a fucking idiot.
You don't even need general anesthesia for a nose job. She's mexican she's supposed to have a huge schnoz.
