Swedish TV ‘Hushed Up’ Murder Of Scandinavian Tourists in Morocco

The end of year period in Scandinavia (Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland) has people on social media criticizing about how overly ‘politically correct’ their media and politicians have spoken about the obvious brutal murder of two girl tourists in Morocco last week by Islamic extremists.

Over in Sweden, state broadcaster SVT’s coverage of the double murder of 24-year-old Louisa Vesterager Jespersen and 28-year-old Maren Ueland by Islamists who had sworn allegiance to Islamic State sparked a fury of criticism. The state broadcaster, largely staffed with leftwing state employees, ran an article which read that the brutal murder and subsequent decapitation of the two Scandinavian girls “had nothing to do with Islam.”

Furthermore, both politicians and media in Scandinavia are pushing the narrative that sharing of the graphic video of the murder is illegal, warning people not to share or download the video.

Over in neighboring Norway, Prime Minister Erna Solberg has also explicitly urged people to stop downloading and sharing the graphic video that purportedly shows the double murder and decapitation.

In an interview with Norwegian news outlet VG, Solberg said that she hopes that people “will show support and compassion for the victims and their relatives by abstaining from spreading” the video. She admitted that the video had also been posted on her own Facebook page.

The Scandinavian public is furthermore disturbed by news that the public prosecutor in Sweden yesterday announced about the arrest of three men for planning a terrorist attack in Stockholm.

They are also being prosecuted for financing Islamic State (IS), just like three others.

The six men who had arrived in Sweden as asylum seekers originally from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan who arrived in 2008 and are also suspected of sending money abroad which was ultimately destined for IS.

Five of the six men are in the cell awaiting the trial, which begins on 7 January. The men deny all involvement. At least one of the men has previously been in contact with Rakhmat Akilov, the Uzbek man charged with the deadly terror attack in Stockholm in April 2017.
