Law enforcement from Gwinnett County, Georgia said that a man and four children were found brutally stabbed to death in a Loganville home on Thursday morning.
Police said that when officers responded to a 912 call and then rushed to the home on Emory Lane, they then found the victims dead. A fifth child was still alive and barely fighting for survival as the minor was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say the have arrested a possible suspect, who is the mother of the children, and she has been detained. Police said "specifics on the ages of the children or a motive for this horrendous crime is still unknown."
The woman is now being interrogated with questions at the Gwinnett County Police Department. The Gwinnett County Police Department said each of the victims were all under 10 years old and the man was in his mid 30s.
Neighbors said the family have lived at the home for less than a month. The neighbors also said the mom was possibly in the house with her dead family for as long as 24 hours before police were finally called.
Spokesman for the Police Department, Michele Piedra, said they believe they have detained everyone involved in this crime. "I don't want anybody in this community to think that we've got a mad person running around trying to stab somebody," Pihera said.
Neighbors told local media that the woman was depressed about her father dying as far as they knew, but that they were unable to ascertain why someone would commit such a brutal and savage crime against their own children.
