Churches are supposed to be houses of peace and worship, but for Welcome Springs Methodist Church in Talladega, Alabama; it was a target for a ruthless criminal.
The Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office says that 31 year old Donald Clay Warren was responsible for a sickening arson attack against the Church on Welcome Springs Lane in Talladega.

Firefighters say they responded to a call about a towering inferno at around 8 PM, but that by the time they arrived the blaze had caused severe structural damage and spread across the building.
Multiple law enforcement agencies from across the region including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Talladega County Sheriff's Office, the Sylacauga and Birmingham fire departments, and the Alabama Department of Insurance State Fire Marshal's Office Criminal Investigations Unit are now attempting to find the source of the materials Warren used to start the fire.
Authorities say that they're not sure as to what Warren's motive may have been.
Warren is now in the Talladega County Jail where he will be detained until his trial or makes bond which is currently set at $50,000.
