Taylor Winston is a 29-year-old marine veteran who found himself at the center of the worst shooting in modern U.S. history. Winston was at the Route 91 country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada when a 64-year-old gunman opened fire from a sniper perch at the Mandalay Bay into the crowd of thousands below.

When people began to get shot and flee, Winston thought quickly about how to help the victims. Noticing an unoccupied utility truck, he quickly checked the ignition and found the keys inside. Winston commandeered the truck to race injured victims to the hospital. When car dealership owner Shane Beus of Gilbert, Arizona read about Winston's quick-thinking action and how he saved lives he decided to reach out to the veteran and give him a free truck.
Winston, who lives in San Diego, is expected to come and pick up the silver F-150 on Monday. The heroic veteran has said he will sell his current vehicle and donate the proceeds to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting.
