Latest Video: Southwest Flight 1380

Passengers aboard a Southwest Airlines jet made an emergency landing after an engine explosion mid-flight. The passenger jet landed at Philadelphia's airport with a damaged engine and one critically injured woman. Damage could be seen to the left engine of the plane where the explosion occurred.

One passenger named Martinez said on Facebook Live, "Something is wrong with our plane! It appears we are going down! Emergency landing!! Southwest flight from NYC to Dallas!!" Martinez also described hearing an explosion and seeing the engine slam against a window inuring the woman sitting there and partially sucking her out the broken window.

The woman was pulled back in by passengers but was critically injured. A tweet from the Philadelphia airport reported that flight 1380 "landed safely at PHL and passengers are being brought into the terminal." Officials announced at 3:15 p.m. the woman had died of her injuries.

The plane landed and was met by emergency crews. Damage is significant.
