A major child pornographic distribution sting carried out by the Department of Justice has taken down an agent with the Customs and Border Protection in which US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York has now filed charges.
54-year-old Keith E. Hook of Oswego, New York was charged via a federal complaint about what the US Attorney's Office says is the <i>distribution of dozens of child pornography videos and images</i> during the period of a week-long investigation into the pedophile Border Patrol agent.
Hook transmitted the illicit child pornographic images and videos of prepubescent children between April 30th and May 4th through Apple iMessage and Kik Messenger, after a forensic review of the electronic devices belonging to the pedophile Border Patrol agent were found to contain 34 illicit files of child pornography.
At least two of those files were videos of children being forcefully raped by adults, as reported by<a href="http://www.newsweek.com/border-patrol-agent-child-pornography-arrest-keith-hook-distribution-kik-ipod-1005894"> Newsweek</a>.
During an initial court appearance before United States Magistrate Judge Andrew T. Baxter, Hook was ordered held in custody until a hearing tomorrow on July 6th, where Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoffrey J. L. Brown and Kevin M. Kelly, Special Agent in Charge of the Buffalo Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations, will be prosecuting the disgraced Border Patrol agent.
If convicted of these horrific crimes against children, Hook could face 20 years imprisonment in a federal penitentiary, a $250,000 fine, post-release supervision and the requirement to register as a sex offender.
The actions of Hook should not reflect on the Border Patrol agency, but it remains clear that <i>the swamp is being drained</i> from within the federal government and their employees.
Child pornography is not a victimless crime, and every child who is depicted in a video or image at some point in time were victims of sexual abuses. There are no words or sentences of imprisonment which can return their lost innocence, which is why these cases are so traumatic.

It's also important to remind readers that 5 to 20 years imprisonment is not punishment enough for anyone who would harm a child through sexual abuse, and we need to demand Congress introduce legislation returning the death penalty for convicted pedophiles who have engaged in this type of crime.

This particular case was investigated by numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and as part of<a href="https://www.justice.gov/psc/about-project-safe-childhood"> “Project Safe Childhood,” </a>the Justice Department has declared war on those who would commit child-sex crimes or participate in the distribution of illicit child pornographic videos and images across the globe.
The components of Project Safe Childhood include the Office of the Deputy Attorney General, FBI, United States Marshals Service, United States Attorneys Offices, Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Office of International Affairs, Office of Justice Programs, and Office of Legal Policy.
Those components coordinate in unison with the efforts with the numerous other local, state, tribal, federal, and non-governmental agencies and organizations, which includes the United States Postal Inspection Service, Department of Homeland Security through Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the United States Secret Service, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Defense, Department of Commerce, Department of Education, the 61 Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces, and numerous other local and state agencies and organizations. All non-governmental organizations involved in countless takedowns work alongside our federal, tribal, state, and local partners include the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, Child Help, Darkness to Light, Girls Education and Mentoring Services, Inc., Enough is Enough, i-Safe, Kristi House, Inc., Nevada Child Seekers, Paul Lisa Program, Inc., Web Wise Kids, San Diego Police Foundation, Self Reliance Foundation, Washtenaw Area Council for Children, INOBTR, TechMission Youth Program, PROTECT, and many others.
One of the chief mandates of the PROTECT ACT and the National Strategy is to expand the efforts to coordinate and cooperate with federal, tribal, state, local, and international organizations and agencies in the fight to prevent and interdict in the sexual exploitation of children. At some point, we have to ask ourselves why such arrests aren't reports by the television news outlets, especially when the<a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/more-2300-suspected-online-child-sex-offenders-arrested-during-operation-broken-heart">United States Department of Justice made an announcement as the two-thousand and three-hundred arrests of pedophiles</a>, which should have resulted in non-stop television news coverage. Which one of <i>your favorite primetime “news” hosts</i> actually reported on that case? Likely none.
Despite this, we keep fighting. The swamp is being drained thanks to the patriots President Trump has placed in our government's leadership roles, and it's undeniable at this point.
