After much legal wrangling, actor Johnny Depp has settled with his former career managers, The Management Group.
A spokesperson for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star confirmed the development and issues a statement on Monday that read: “Johnny Depp is pleased to have achieved a settlement agreement with The Management Group following the legal action he took against the company in January 2017.”

Depp’s spokesperson said the popular celebrity’s legal actions against The Management Group and the subsequent settlement is a demonstration that the actor “is determined to take firm action to protect his personal and artistic reputation in the interests of his family and career.”
Depp sued The Management Group in January 2017, accusing his former managers of committing “self-dealing and gross misconduct.” Among the misdeeds that Depp alleged included: Taking a 5 percent commission of the actor’s income, “in some cases regardless of whether Mr. Depp actually received any income himself or not” — a commission that was “exorbitant, excessive, and far outstripped the actual value of services TMG would be performing for Mr. Depp.”

Depp sought $25 million for the said suit.
The Management Group countered with their own suit against Depp accusing that he is to be blamed for his financial woes because of his propensity for living “an ultra-extravagant lifestyle” that he “simply could not afford.”

TMG detailed in their cross-complaint that: “[T]hroughout the entire 17-year period that TMG represented Depp, Depp lived an ultra-extravagant lifestyle that knowingly cost Depp more than $2 million per month to maintain, which he simply could not afford.”
They added that: “Among the ill-considered extravagances include spending $75 million on 14 residences throughout the world; dropping more than $18 million to buy and renovate a 150-foot yacht; and spending $30,000 a month on “expensive wine that [Depp] had flown to him around the world for his personal consumption.”
With the case finally settled, Depp’s spokesperson said the actor can fully focus now with his career projects. The spokesperson said:“Following the settlement, Johnny is pleased to be able to revert his full attention to his ongoing artistic endeavors, notably the second leg of the sold-out Hollywood Vampires global tour and the exciting launch of J.K. Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,’ which will be released in theaters in November this year.”
The terms of the settlement, however, were not revealed.
Depp was also recently in the news for allegedly punching a location manager on the “City of Lies” movie set.

the managers should not have settled and sued the hell out of this arrogant but stupid so-so actor! let him suffer for his comments about trump.
Another Hollywood actor has gone weird and Uber-Liberal as their career fades and dies.
So far in 20+ years of his movie career I have only liked him in: Pirates of the Caribbean: #1 The Curse of the Black Pearl and Edward Scissor hands.
After he went for the Far left field team with Penn and other Uber Socialist Hollywood types I dropped interest in anything he has done.
The piece of crap depp has no career after his stupid comments about our President. I hope he keeps blowing all his money, because he's going to find out people won't be watching anymore of his movies. He deserves to end up broke and living on the streets begging for change! He's a delusional wanna be pirate drugged out wife beater that needs his butt kicked!
